Dunkin Donuts in the Works?

A city planning and development report indicates a Walgreens pharmacy also could be set for Cartersville.

A document released by city planning and development officials indicates a Dunkin Donuts may be in the works for Cartersville.

The status report on residential, commercial and industrial developments dated June 1 lists for the donut and coffee giant a location in Cartersville at Gentilly Boulevard and Joe Frank Harris Parkway, adjacent to Nelson's furniture store and near Home Depot.

A "concept discussion" was held in April and work thus far has involved an engineering firm.

It would be one of more than 10,000 shops across the globe for the world's leading baked goods and coffee chain, which today is celebrating National Donut Day by offering customers a free donut with the purchase of a beverage.

Dunkin Donuts has several locations in nearby Kennesaw.

The report also indicates plans for a new Walgreens pharmacy in Cartersville may have progressed further than an initial discussion.

In February, revised civil plans were approved for the store at Tennessee and Church streets. Bids for the $3 million drugstore are out, Bartow Headlines reports.

Walgreens has 8,300 locations across the country, 196 of which are in Georgia.

I've said for a long time that Cartersville needs a Dunkin Donuts and a Steak 'n Shake. I was thinking they should go in the old Long Jihn Simvets location.

Anyone with an AARP card is a member of a socialist organization and an enemy of the US Constitution.
