Commissioner, Mayor to Ride Camels?

In an effort to raise money for cancer research, Clarence Brown and Matt Santini have agreed to ride camels through downtown Cartersville if they reach their goal.

Teaming up to raise cancer awareness and money for Relay for Life, Bartow County Commissioner Clarence Brown and Cartersville Mayor Matt Santini are soliciting donations for the Sept. 9 Relay for Life in Cartersville.

If the goal of $2,500 is reached, the β€œCamel Challenge to Fight Cancerβ€œ will culminate with the two local officials riding camels through downtown Cartersville.

Checks made payable to the American Cancer Society are being collected at the , Cartersville or . The fundraising effort will conclude Aug. 18 when Brown and Santini will be on the radio with Joe Tilley to help raise money and meet the goal.Β
