Cartersville residents have five days to make charitable donations that will apply to the 2011 tax year.

According to a news release from Goodwill, the organization is gearing up for its busiest week of the year. 

“We encourage families to gather items now because with the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it’s easy to forget items you intended to donate,” said Elaine Armstrong, director of public relations.

Goodwill has more than 100 locations, including one here in Cartersville, and accepts items such as clothing, books, furniture and household items. In addition to Goodwill, local residents can donate items to the Salvation Army.
