Cartersville Teen Dies in Harris County Crash
Hannah Elaine Stroup, 19, of Cartersville, was a recent Woodland High School graduate.
A Cartersville teen was killed early Thursday in a one-vehicle crash near Pine Mountain, GA. Hannah Elaine Stroup, 19, was a 2012 graduate of Woodland High School, according to a Cartersville Patch tipster.
Georgia State Patrol spokesman Gordy Wright said Stroup was a passenger in a Toyota Scion traveling south on Interstate 185 in Harris County. The driver lost control about 12:50 a.m., and the car went into the median and overturned several times before coming to rest right side up.
Stroup and another passenger were not restrained and therefore ejected from the car, but Stroup was the only to lose her life. The driver and three other passengers were taken to Columbus Regional for treatment.
An autopsy to determine the cause of Stroup's death was set for today, the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer reports.
The driver could face charges, pending the completion of an investigation by GSP's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team in Forsyth, Wright said.
