BOLO: Runaway Teen in Danger

Bartow County Sheriff's Office investigators are seeking information on the whereabouts of Cierra Brown, a 13-year-old missing since March 13, and David Broome, 16.

Editor's note: A day after Cartersville Patch published this article, local authorities said the two runaway teens were found safe in Oklahoma and taken into custody to await transport to Georgia.

A 13-year-old runaway missing from her Cartersville home since March 13 is considered powerless and defenseless, due to either her age or any one of a long list of previous and current circumstances, such as abuse, drugs and exposure to criminal activity.

authorities late Saturday issued a "be on the lookout" for Cierra Brown, who stands 5-feet tall and weighs 105 pounds, and David Broome, listed as her possible companion by the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

A Cartersville Patch tipster said the middle school student set to turn 14 in August and the 16-year-old boy are "missing for the second time."

The two are listed as runaways with the local law enforcement agency, according to BCSO's Facebook page, and the national nonprofit that aids missing and exploited children classified Brown as endangered.

In general, an endangered runaway is one whose "episodes" involved any one of 17 factors that placed them at risk for harm, according to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. One of those factors is age—kids 13 and younger are considered in peril—while some others relate to physical and sexual abuse; drug use, abuse and dependency; and violent or sexually-exploitative associates.

Nearly two weeks after Brown went missing, sheriff's investigators are asking for the public's help to find her and Broome. Anyone with information as to their current whereabouts should call either BCSO or , an anonymous tip line operation that offers cash rewards to tipsters.
