Bartow Man Charged in AL Theft

Authorities say Charles Aaron Doss III, 25, sold a Ford van stolen from DeKalb County, Alabama a day after the theft was reported.

Bartow County sheriff's investigators have arrested a man from White in connection to the theft of a motor vehicle in Alabama.

Investigators discovered Charles Aaron Doss III, 25, had sold a Ford van stolen from DeKalb County, Alabama, to Taylor's Junkyard a day after the theft was reported, Sheriff Clark Millsap said in a release.

Authorities recovered the van with assistance from the junkyard and prior to it being processed as scrap. It was returned to the owners.

Doss, of West Rocky Street, was in jail yesterday awaiting a bond hearing in Bartow County Superior Court. He is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and theft by deception, and was wanted on a bench warrant.
