A few weeks ago, Andrea and Jackie Wallace, owners of the upscale Appalachian Grill under the bridge opened the new eatery, Ate Track Bar & Grill. It replaces the former Wall Street Cafe, which closed in April last year, and is a block or so from Appalachian Grill.
"It's close to Grill and a small location. There was no commute for us. No new city," Andrea Wallace told Cartersville Patch about opening the new bar and grill. "We transformed the whole space. It was a win-win for us. It was always our dream to open a rock-n-roll bar."
Open for lunch and dinner with a full bar, 13 beers on tap and vintage decor, Ate Track is clad in 60s and 70s pieces the Wallace's picked up at yard sales, The Salvation Army and on eBay, including old posters that line the ceiling and 45 records that grace the walls, Wallace said.
Diners enjoy music from the era, too, along with a big selection of menu items, according to Wallace. Options range from salads, sandwiches and burgers to tacos Wallace describes as "phenomenal" to "nice" entrees, Filet Mignon and sirloin.
"We've been doing very well," Wallace said. "We don't even have a now-open sign out and we've been really busy."
