Sex Offenders On Your Trick-or-Treat Route?
We checked the Bartow County Sheriff's Office database and found more than 100 registered sex offenders in Cartersville. Is there one in your neighborhood?
Halloween is next week, and local children will be knocking on doors throughout local neighborhoods trick-or-treating. But, could one of those bells be to the home of a sex offender?
Cartersville Patch checked with the Bartow County Sheriff's Office's database and found 107 registered sex offenders with Cartersville addresses, including some who are incarcerated or homeless.
Last year, BCSO hosted a Halloween night party for registered sex offenders, who participated voluntarily, and in February, Sheriff Clark Millsap said 98 percent of registered sex offenders in the county were compliant.
The number of registered sex offenders in Bartow County is 179, of which one currently is alleged to be non-compliant and has an active arrest warrant.
