Good! After her crash, she now resigns!

I applaud her for doing the right thing for the community.

I don't think she is doing this for the community, it just makes her look better for leaving the school board...it makes it look like she cares...now she needs to serve time for assualting the teen!

What she did was wrong and punishable but if she was a good board member i believe she should have been able to retain her job i mean my goodness if people can forgive a michael Vick are michael jackson what she did was minor in comparision.

She should do some time! If I hit someone with a car I know that they would put me in for a while,, School board member or NOT! It's plain as day she drove into the girl... OH,She was Texting and didnot see the girl?

Whether or not she hit the girl in question is not "plain as day". What is apparent is that she was trying to use her vehicle vs. a person and that's not a fair fight. From what I understand, the girl was not injured and only had a smudge on her clothing and no indication that the vehicle struck her. Ms. Cornett was wrong for trying to force this issue and the person was wrong for trying to shield a damned parking place with her body. The Courts will ultimately figure it out. She should have resigned and she did.

Steve, the problem is she WAS NOT a good board member and should have already resigned after the e-mails, recorded phone calls, & text messages were released a few months ago.

She assaulted a 17yr old student and deserves jail time for it.
She needs to go to Highland Rivers and get in Anger mgmt.
That would help her in the long run as many hotheaded people don't realize
they have a problem. This story is really sad as it didn't have to happen.

Since she is now considered a private citizen, any further negative comments about her could result in her suing for slander/defamation of character. Just sayin'.

Jay, not true. She was an elected official and these actions happened during her service. She also is now a public personality due to her arrest and nantionwide media attention. No different that Casey Anthony - you can publicy criticize Angie all you want

If she has a bad record at school board then this was indeed another incident on top of the other things but i dont know her history. If she has mental are anger issues then yes she should go and that goes without saying.
