Airport Grant Application on Council Agenda
The Cartersville City Council is set to vote to submit an application for federal funds for the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport.
Tentative funding allocated for the Cartersville-Bartow County Airport would be used to design a storm drainage system and for land acquisition services at the airport.
The tentative allocation for the airport project is $100,225 and, according to a letter from the Georgia Depeartment of Transportation, the actual contrat amount will be based on preapproved design, planning and engineering costs and/or competitive bids to complete the project.
If approved, the grant would require a funding match of $2,637, which would be paid for from the Airport Authority's budget.
According to DOT's letter, the project will be ready for contract in January.
The Cartersville City Council is expected to vote on the grant application at its meeting today at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The full agenda for the meeting is attached.
