Chief Thomas N. Culpepper of the Cartersville Police Department is pleased to announce the recent promotion of Officer Mike Bettikofer to the rank of sergeant.
Bettikofer is currently assigned to the Special Operations Unit but with this promotion will be assigned as an assistant shift commander on one of the patrol shifts within the Uniform Patrol Division.
Bettikofer has been employed with the Cartersville Police Department since 2009. He has 13 years of law enforcement experience. Prior to coming to Cartersville, Bettikofer served with the Federal Reserve Police and with the Poland, Ohio, Police Department.

I have had the pleasure of dealing with this officer and found him to be a very caring, intelligent man who takes his job seriously. I think this is a well deserved promotion and our community is better off with him watching our backs.
